"The Live Entertainment Capital Of The World"
The end of summer is quickly approaching. We only have couple of weeks to relax and plan for a family vacation before kids go back to school. I haven't been to any states in the Midwest but it seems that Branson, Missouri is a destination of choice for summer time fun, where the whole family can have a great time. I heard a lot of great things about Branson and the many activities to do. This summer, Branson has an ongoing events for everyone like the concerts by Lost Highway, The 21st Annual Downtown Branson Fiddle Fest and a lot more. Your vacation to this beautiful town will not be complete without visiting the Titanic museum.

It's A Scorcher Out There!
Last weekend we were in New Jersey for our uncle's funeral. Since that Sunday was really a hot day we decided to just relax at the Liberty State Park before we went home. A lot of people were at the park having picnic, the aroma of a barbecue and some familiar foods wafting in the air. We looked around the park and most of them were Filipinos. I was surprise of the number of Filipinos in that area. No wonder why there is a big Filipino store nearby.

A Kid - Friendly Vacation
Do you think taking a vacation without the kids can be done? Some did it. They said, they enjoyed and felt recharged after spending time with their spouse. But after I gave birth to my little girl, it seemed impossible for us to just spend some time together. If I can, I would love to spend a few days in Florida. I always want to spend some time in the beach, stroll around town and do some shopping in a Prime outlets, where bargains are plenty. Spending vacation with just the two of us is just a dream. Whenever we go on vacation we want to be with our little girl and enjoy her company. Anyway, in Kissimmee, we can still combine the fun, rides shopping and exploring the beautiful sceneries this place has to offer.
The best time to go on vacation in Kissimme really depends on weather you are traveling with school kids or not. Although the parks are packed when the school is out but it is the best time for our family to fulfill our dream getaway. Though money is tight, you can still get away because Kissimmee is giving away three weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two; and two week-long vacations for four. Drawings will be held on or around 4/1/09, 5/1/09 and 6/1/09. You can enter the sweeptakes and get a chance to win a free vacation by visiting their website. See you there!

Family Summer Vacation
Everybody with children in school knows how important summer vacation is for spending quality time together. We always want to have a perfect vacation to bond with our kids, explore new places, have some fun and even relax. Planning ahead of time is the key since we are going to travel with our little girl. I figured it is about time to spend our summer vacation in Kissimmee, Florida and visit the world famous family attractions like SeaWorld, Disney World and Universal Studios. I know my little girl will have a blast once she finds out about our plan. My husband wouldn't want to be left out so I suggested the swamp tour and an airboat ride across lake Taho. I've heard that at the Land at Epcot, the ride through the greenhouse is fascinating so we also included it in our things to do list. We want it to be a memorable vacation for the whole family. I am pretty sure my little girl will be recalling vacation memories for years to come. The nicest thing is that Kissimmee is now giving away three weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two ; and two week-long vacations for four . Drawings will be held on or around 4/1/09, 5/1/09 and 6/1/09. For those of you who wants to have a free vacation try signing up and have a chance to experience your dream vacation.

Our Perfect Kissimmee Getaway
Every year my husband reminds me about going to Florida to bring our little girl to Disney World. I keep on postponing it because I want my daughter to remember all the good things in this trip. She will turn six this summer and I think this is the best time for her to experience all the exciting activities that this place has to offer. I never heard of Kissimmee before, until I became more interested and start looking for the best place in Florida where we can spend our vacation. It seems that this place is synonymous with fun. There is so much for a kid to do. Disney World is just minutes away, of course. There are water parks, SeaWorld, where she can explore aquatic wonders and get soak by the smart and amazing Shamu splash, the lakes and swamps for tours of the local wildlife such as alligators. I am pretty sure that this time what she will experience here will always be close to her heart. I need to sign up now since Kissimmee is giving away three weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two; and two week-long vacations for four. Drawings will be held on or around 4/1/09, 5/1/09 and 6/1/09.

Our Trip To The Philippines...

We've been back for a month now but the fun, the excitement and just being with my family still lingers on. So I decided to write it down just to let them know how I truly miss them.
My daughter and I traveled from Boston - LA -Hong Kong-Manila. It was a longer route for us since we are from the East Coast but because my brother and his family live in Los Angeles we decided to take this route so we can get a chance to see them. It was really worth a trip.
Joanne found everything exciting, from riding the plane ( even if it's not her first), meeting her relatives, the weather (she had a little complain about it) and all other things that was new to her. I let her experienced riding different types of public transportations. Communicating with her cousins her age wasn't an issue at all. Playing and hugging was really a beautiful sight . We spent most of the time with my family. It was almost impossible for us to be together at the same time 'coz everyone is so engrossed in their own world. We decided to rent a private pool in Antipolo Rizal so everybody can relax and be together. It was a successful idea since most of us gave their precious time just to be there. We spent 3 days in Mindoro to visit my parents grave and have some time at the beach. Meeting my grade school classmates was exciting too. That was a 3 weeks full of fun & excitement with my family and friends. Love it!

Traveling with CARE(s) (A safe air-travel with kids)

Just recently, we had our vacation in the Philippines and traveling solo with my daughter is not an easy task, especially if you travel for over 20 hrs. I did a lot of research about traveling with kids, what to bring and most importantly the safety of my daughter. Booster seat made for use with a lap-shoulder belt cannot be used, because there is no shoulder belt for upper-body restraint, so I looked online and found this really fabulous device. Its a Child Aviation Restraint System (CARES) and is FAA approved. I think this is a must- have if you have kids traveling with you. It's a great alternative for the booster seat. It is lightweight, very easy to install and my daughter seemed so comfortable with it.
Since it was a very long flight, I loosened her belt from time to time, so she can move around on her seat and do her drawings when the belt sign is not illuminated. Air travel to and from the Phils. wasn't a problem at all. I didn't hear a single complain from my daughter.
