Love Knows No Boundaries
The Fresh Tastes Of Nature

Have you ever picked fresh vegetables and fruits in your garden? Remember how fresh, juicy and delicious they tasted? Growing vegetables and fruits teaches children that plants, like people, need adequate food and water to grow and stay healthy. Through gardens, children also learn about new foods and are willing to taste foods that they grow. Easy food for kids to grow include tomatoes, peppers, green beans, zucchini and many others. You don't need acres of land to garden; many of the plants grow well in containers.

Wicked Profits In Today's Market
They have a goal of making 4% profit per month, consistent returns and an 80% win ratio. Since they started in 2000, they've exceeded that goal, with an average monthly return of 5.0% and a win ratio of 82%, even in this market. Of course, “Past performance does not guarantee future performance”.
This service is targeted for the relatively small investor, with a minimum brokerage account of $10,000 , however they suggest having an account of $15,000. They send you recommendations in the evening, when the markets are closed so it's ideal for the working person who can't stare at the stock ticker all day. You can review their recommendation and decide what to do, or you can select their auto trade feature, where their recommendation will be automatically placed in your trading account by your broker. They give exact step by step entry and exit recommendations for each trade so you will know exactly what to do. It doesn't take a lot of your time, too. This is a good way to get started in options trading. You just need to have a cash or margin account with your broker, with approval to trade options. If this sounds interesting to you, why not check them out at http://www.wickedprofits.com and see if this service is right for you.
Relaxing In My Garden
Dressing up my garden is fun and draw attention to a specific area. This time I am planning to add a solar powered fountain bird bath so I can enjoy the sound of water flowing down the fountain and I'm sure birds will love it too. All I need is fill it with water and enjoy the soothing atmosphere while relaxing on my Peguera Bench. Gardening makes me busy all summer long. Working in my garden strengthen my muscles and is also a great way to get in that daily work out, while also spending time with my family. Since we added a deck close to the garden I can now entertain friends outdoor, with citronella candles and a dab of sunblock we are now ready for an outdoor party.

Looking For Someone Special?
Home Sweet Home
Look for experience – you'll want to select a contractor with direct experience in the type of project you have in mind. Ask for references.
Talk to at least 2 contractors – If possible get a price bids from at least 2 contractors and search for a licensed home improvement contractor.
Check for customer complaints.
Don't be offended if the contractor protects his business by inquiring about your credit worthiness and ability to pay.
Always put changes in writing. If a contractor promises something, ask to have it in writing. Or write up the promised item yourself and ask the builder to initial your writing.
Read the fine print.
It is better to establish a good working relationship with your contractor. Be honest with them about your expectations. And remember, be patient and keep your mind on the end result. Good luck!

Mellow Yellow - Toy Tunnel

This toy tunnel was once a great toy for my little girl. When baby was away our cat was there to rest or play. Our cat Schmedley taking his rest. This photo was taken 5 years ago. We really miss our cat. He passed away in 2007. He has been with us for 18 years giving us joy and company.
Make Your Home Live Up To Your Dream
What I Want Is A Beautiful Lawn
The Beauty Of A Spring

This magnolia tree is not from our garden but I would love to have one of this kind. I took this picture when walking at the park so I can show it to our local nursery if I can get the same kind. The greatest bloom of this lovely tree is in the early spring.Oh, how I love spring... the beautiful flowers begin to bloom and the green world begins to return after its winter slumber.
Walk and BeeWell
Walking is a part of my daily routine. We are lucky enough to have a park close to where we live. It is a different feeling every time I go out and walk for an hour. Walking at the park where greeneries around makes me feel a whole lot better. I found out that exercising in a green environment puts you in a better frame of mind than working out in a gym. But what about walking or running for a cause, that would be an added bonus. Getting fit and help others benefit by it could be a wonderful experience. Thanks to BeeWell Miles program because they will donate 15 cents for every mile you log to Breast Cancer Network of Strength whose mission is to provide immediate emotional relief to anyone affected by breast cancer. They also have an insightful weekly blog posts that would make easier for us to get active. You will also find useful tools to track your activity and nutrition, delicious and simple recipes and meet other health- minded participants waiting to share their tips, stories and recipes. I don't follow any type of diet but I always make sure that I eat moderately. I try to avoid sweets and salty foods in our pantry so I will not be tempted to nibble it while I'm home. We usually don't have sweet desserts at home but reserve that special indulgences when dining in a restaurant. Have fun walking!
Bug Carousel
How would you like to be riding on the back of an insect as small as a your thumb? My littlegirl had so much fun in a bug carousel during our visit to the zoo in Bronx, New York. Actually that was the highlight of her trip when she found out that there is bug carousel that she can ride on aside from the interesting animals in the rainforest. I will write more about our Bronx zoo visit on my next posts.

Waiting For A Sunny Day

It's been raining for 3 days in a row now. I hope sunny day comes before the spring break ends. My little girl can't wait to play in this play ground again. At least I got an opportunity to look for the Glass Tile my hubby needs for his project.

Do Plants Sleep?

At night...

It is so interesting, I was in the kitchen washing dishes when I noticed our seedlings folded up all their leaves. Are they sleeping? Yes, plants do sleep at night. They can not make food, so they shut down by closing their stomata.
Let me talk a little bit of science here:
Green plants are the only plants that produce oxygen and make food, which is called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis means "putting together with light." This takes place in sunlight. From sunlight, green plants combine carbon dioxide and water to make sugar and oxygen. Green plants use sugar to make starch, fats, and proteins. there are tiny pores called stomata. Oxygen and carbon dioxide enter and leave through the stomata.
Our Dream Getaway

If there is one place I dreamed of going, It is the beautiful Maui in Hawaii. I heard a lot of wonderful things about this Island. The world's best beaches, the beautiful people and the breathtaking Maui Resort is the perfect getaway. We are already been talking about celebrating our wedding anniversary and came across to the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. Their amenities include two restaurants, spa salon and swimming pool. One of the activities that we would like to do is visiting the historic sites. Since Maui is home to ancient Hawaii capital, the historic town of Lahaina, It would be worth to visit. Museums are surely enjoyable too. White sand beaches of course is number one in our list plus other activities for kids because our 6 year old daughter will be with us. Hiking adventures is for sure one of the best to explore Maui.
For couples who are planning their dream wedding, Maui Weddings is truly a dream of couple in love. Hawaii is definitely the island of enchantment for lovers and getting married in Maui would be an unforgettable wedding experience. The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel has a lovely oceanfront garden.
Peony In My Garden
This peony gave me the grandest show last summer. This was my very first peony in my garden I bought 4 years ago. I always love peony because of its huge flower and a nice smell. I can't imagine my garden in early summer without seeing those gorgeous and voluptuous flowers. I planted few more seedlings given by a friend few years ago and hoping this year will be their time to show off their beauty. Peonies grow 2to 4 feet tall and thrive in sunny flowerbeds and well drained soil. Although they tolerate a wide range of soil types, you'll have the best success with good soil rich in organic matter.

The Breakers - Newport Rhode Island
View from the open air terrace
Last summer we got a chance to spent our weekend in Newport Rhode Island. The weather was beautiful, we started our day at the city walk and walked from the Forty steps down to The Breakers home. We only got a chance to visit one mansion because my littlegirl was already tired of walking. The inside was beautiful with 70 rooms and approx. 65,000 sq. ft. of living space. We are planning to continue exploring other mansions this summer.

Mango -The Heavenly Fruit
One good thing that I love about spring aside from being so joyous and full of energy are the variety of tropical fruits that are available in the market. Like mangoes, this fruit is not available all year round. I've been buying this since the start of the spring. I am lucky that I can now buy it in our local market. It is not as delicious as the ones grown in the Philippines but the taste is close enough to satisfy my craving.
I usually eat it with bread for breakfast or make a smoothie out of it. My little girl loves it too. I buy a lot each week and wait until it becomes golden yellow in color to enjoy its sweetness. Mangoes help to lower cholesterol, the fiber content is a wonderful aid to digestion regularity and they are rich in Vitamins A and C. they provide more carotinoids than other fruits, and are also low in calories.

A Poem From My Precious Girl
While browsing my co bloggers blog, I came across to Heathen Mom's blog and learned that April is a national poetry month. It is a good opportunity to post the poem my 5 year old DD made for me when she found out that the Sunflower she gave me on Mother's day didn't survive. Here is the poem she asked me to write since she had a hard time writing it. (I just wrote what she wanted me to.)
Sunflower
Sunflower so yellow and bright
I love how they smell,
I love how they feel
When you pick the flower
and put it in a pot,
you can pick another one if you want?
You think it's a tree
You think it's a bee
You think it might grow higher than me?

Keeping E-mail Messages Private And Secure
Did you ever wonder what the online email companies do with”your” email when it is stored on their system? One thing is that your email is scanned to determine which advertisements to show to you. They gather statistics and so forth which is shared with the advertisers. Do you think it is acceptable for the advertisers to pry in on your email? It's not. Now there is an online email service that does not share your email with advertisers for any reason. It's called Privacy Harbor. What's worse than sharing your emails with advertisers? How about spammers? Did you know that it is estimated that 97-98% of email traffic on the net these days is spam? Many of us get dozens or even hundreds of spam emails every day. They have anti-spam and anti-virus protection as well. This is necessary these days, with spammers and virus writers running amok. It is so hard to always delete unnecessary e-mails from your in box. Also if you accidentally open the unwanted e-mails, virus may make the computer crash. It happened to me one time and we ended up formatting the hard drive to make our computer work. There is one company that could help to keep every message safe, private and secure.You may want to Get your Free Private Email now at PrivacyHarbor.com.

Healthy Tips for Older Mom To Be
Here are some tips to decrease the risks:
*Get at least 400mg of folic acid each day to prevent birth defects - even before you get pregnant. Eat portified cereals or take multivitamin with this nutrient.
*See your Dr. right away to begin prenatal care. Regular visits will help detect and treat any problems quickly.
*Stay at a healthy weight. You can do this by eating right- stock up on fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Ask your Dr. how to exercise safely.
*Don't smoke, drink, or use illegal drugs. This can cause long term harm to your child.
*Talk with your doctor about genetic counseling and testing. Screening precedures can help you assess your baby's risk for birth defects and make informed decisions.

Charter Brings Our Home To Life

We still receive three bills every month for our three services (telephone, cable television and internet connection). It is more paper to file and more checks to issue. Since we are watching our budget these days I am thinking of bundling the services that we have. Charter offers a plan they call “The Charter Bundle.” It bundles two or three services for one value – based price. It is more convenient, less paper, and at an affordable price. We always want good savings so I really consider this one. They have an easy to use website, www.charter.com where customers can use to build the service bundle that meets their needs. Also they have an ongoing contest for the new and existing customers who order service on line, a chance to win a 22” flat screen HDTV every day throughout the month of April. Charter is also offering an opportunity to win a grand prize package that includes a 52” LCD flat screen HDTV, a Home Theater system and one year of free Charter Digital cable service with HD programming. It would be great to enhance the viewing experience by having an HD programming. I'm pretty sure my husband and my little girl will enjoy having a big screen with a very clear picture.
Ice Storm Remnants Make Us Busy...
A good size poplar tree knocked down from the last ice storm. DH wrestled out to cut the whole tree and make it as a firewood for the coming winter. Though energy content of this wood is lower but it is a little bit better than white pine (we don't burn white pine anyway) if use for wood burning. Quite a few trees knocked down in the woods so it would be fun cutting those and bringing it all down closer to our yard.
Stacking firewoods is an art in itself. Isn't it?
"150 Fun Songs For Kids" for $0.99 Album Download!

Wow! Here is an amazing offer we can't resist. On Easter Sunday (April 12, 2009) Amazon MP3 will offer an MP3 "Deal Of The Day" on the digital album 150 Fun Songs For Kids for only $0.99. This digital album sells for $9.49. That is a big savings. This is an amazing collection of children's favorites that is perfect for sing a long fun! A great collection to have in the car. Summer vacation is just around the corner and most of the time we travel by car and a collection of kid's music is great to have for an enjoyable ride. Children love music. My little girl can play for long hours just by herself as long as there is kid's music in the background. Music has the ability to comfort and soothe children. They often sing to themselves as a way to self-soothe. I use the children's song when she gets cranky. It really helps. Toddlers and preschoolers love rhymes and songs. They really enjoy listening to kids music, not only do they enjoy them, but it help them learn about numbers, letters and sounds. Music helps with making connections in the brain. I usually plays the "Clean Up" song after she is done playing. At least I don't have to repeatedly tell her to clean up. Once she hears the song it's time for her to do it. It helps for us moms so we can also have our time to relax.

It's Merienda Time!
Yesterday I had an ample time to relax. I went out to do some yard work but it was windy and cold so I decided to have a haircut instead. After I got home I prepared a snack for my littlegirl since everytime she gets home from school she asks, "Mom, what can I have for a snack?" I think after long hours in school with just 15 minutes of recess kids get tired and hungry when they get home. I made banana fritters for her. I'm glad she liked it.
Kissimmee, Where The Fun Begins!
After the long winter and an ice storm that hit our area we really deserve to have a break. A place where we can experience a full sunshine, a great escape from the chilly New england weather. Since my little girl will be having a spring vacation soon it would be a great idea to check out and plan the perfect getaway that I've been dreaming about for a long time. The wonderful place in Florida that would satisfy my family's need. Kissimmee is a place perfect for the whole family knowing that we can make it everything we want it to be. I would love to try an exhilarating airboat ride across Lake Taho and have a lakeside picnic with my family. Of course visiting the theme parks and attractions would surely excites my little girl. Water parks are so much fun, so this will be the number one in our list of things to do. Kissimmee is the epicenter of fun in Central Florida, with an endless array of vacation attractions ranging from the pulse pounding to the simply extraordinary. Luckily, Kissimmee is giving away three weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two; and two weeklong vacations for four. Drawings will be held on or around 4/1/09, 5/1/09 and 6/1/09. It seems that the best vacations are free in Kissimmee. See you there!

Make Home Remodeling Less Stressful
Not all contractors are reputable. Here are some tips-off to potential rip-offs:
*solicits door-to-door;
*offers you discounts for finding other customers;
*just happens to have materials left over from a previous job;
*only accepts cash payments;
*asks you to get the required building permits;
*does not list a business number in the local telephone directory;
*tells you your job will be a "demonstration;"
*pressures you for an immediate decision;
*offers exceptionally long guarantees;
*asks you to pay for the entire job up-front;
*suggests that you borrow money from a lender the contractor knows.
If you’re not careful, you could lose your home through a home improvement loan scam.

The Super Food
Popeye loves it, so does my little girl. Spinach may be classified as a “super food” because it's packed to the brain with essential nutrients. Whether you choose a pre- packaged bag of spinach or a fresh bundle of leaves, you will reap the nutritional benefits of this delectable green. When making your purchase, select that is bright green in color with thin stems and leaves that are not wilted or spotted with yellow. Children may prefer baby spinach because the leaves are smaller and more tender than other forms of spinach. Eating spinach feeds a healthy body. It is a great source of calcium, folic acid, iron, magnesium, vitamin C and vitamin A. Spinach also contains lutein, which is important for healthy eyes. If you're a vegetarian, it's important to note that spinach contains oxalic acids, which can block the absorption of calcium and iron. You can remedy this by pairing spinach with other foods high in vitamin C, such as orange juice.

Easter Bunny Is Coming To Town
It's Easter once again, my little girl is so excited because she can again wear her Easter bunny outfit. This year I will try to use vegetables and spices to color our eggs. I've seen a web site on how to dye eggs this way and I am getting so excited to try it. For sure it would be fun and my little girl would surely love it. We usually go to church on Easter morning and participate the egg hunting after. We are lucky that the church that we go to has an activity for kids after mass. At home she again do some egg hunting then eat our lunch at the restaurant. She loves to always wear costumes even when she is at home or with her friends. Playing dress up is always one of those things they do. I like seeing her with her disney character outfit running around the house playing make believe. Halloween Costumes is one of her favorites. She is already asking me when is she going to choose her costume. It is fun to shop around and choose costume each year. I've seen a website that has a lot of selections to choose from. Boys Halloween Costumes and even Adult Disney Costumes are so cute and interesting.

Mommy Moments- Special Day
Welcoming our precious little girl to the world was one of the most special day for us. She brought a new and special light to our lives on July 09, 2003
Another special day was when she was baptized. This day she became a christian. We chose two sets of godparents. (my sister in law, my brother, my friend, and my hubby's friend)
